What is a web push notification
Web Push Notifications are little pop-up notifications that are sent from our website to your computer or mobile device. We use Web Push Notifications to interact with you and to send you information and/ or alerts, many of which you can customise. Here are some examples:-
Will I get notifications if close my browser
Yes, that’s the beauty of Web Push Notifications – you will receive notifications as long as you are online and you do not need to have our website open.
Which browsers are compatible with Web Push Notifications
To receive Web Push Notifications you will need one of the following browsers:
- Apple Safari (not supported on iPad or iPhone);
- Google Chrome version 42 or newer (not supported on Apple devices);
- Mozilla Firefox version 44 or newer.
Microsoft Edge support is coming soon.
How do I enable Web Push Notifications in my browser
Google Chrome FOR PC
- When you first visit our website you will receive a pop up from Google Chrome asking you for permission to Show Notifications from us, simply tap or click Allow.
- If you did not receive this popup or if you tapped or clicked Block, here's how to allow notifications:-
- Tap or click the Padlock in the web address bar;
- Then tap or click the down arrow next to Notifications and select Always allow on this site;
- Now close and reopen Google Chrome and then Sign in to your account so that our server can sync your device data.
Note
If you do not receive a popup asking for permission to Show Notifications after completing the steps above you will need to clear your Cookies.
Google Chrome for Android
When you first visit our website you will receive a pop up from Google Chrome blue-ring.co.uk wants to send you notifications, simply tap Allow.
- If you did not receive this popup or if you tapped or clicked Block, here's how to allow notifications:-
- Tap the Padlock in the web address bar;
- Then tap Site Settings;
- Now tap Notifications and select Allow;
- Now close and reopen Google Chrome and then Sign in to your account so that our server can sync your device data.
Firefox for PC
- When you first visit our website you will receive a popup from Firefox asking you to confirm Would you like to receive notifications from this site?, simply tap or click Always Receive Notifications.
- If you did not receive the popup or if you tapped or clicked Always Block Notifications, here's how to show notifications:-
- Tap or click the Padlock next to the web address bar;
- Make sure Receive Notifications is set to Allow, if it shows as Block, then click the X next to it to remove the setting;
- Now close and reopen Firefox and you will be asked Would you like to receive notifications from this site?, simply tap or click Always Receive Notifications, then Sign in to your account so that our server can sync your device data.

If you do not receive a popup asking Would you like to receive notifications from this site? after completing the steps above you will need to clear your Cookies.
Firefox for Android
When you first visit our website you will receive a popup from Firefox asking you to confirm Would you like to receive notifications from this site?, simply tap Always.
- If you did not receive this popup or if you tapped Never, here's how to allow notifications:-
- Tap the Padlock in the web address bar;
- Tap on Edit Site Settings;
- Then tap check box next to Notifications to place a tick in it then tap Clear;
- Now close and reopen Firefox and you will receive a popup asking you to confirm Would you like to receive notifications from this site?, simply tap Always;
- Finally Sign in to your account so that our server can sync your device data.
Safari for MaC OS X
- When you first visit our website you will receive a popup from Safari asking you to confirm The website "blue-ring.co.uk" would like to show alrets in Notification Center, simply tap or click Allow.
- If you did not receive the popup or tapped or clicked Don't Allow, here's how to allow notifications:-
- On the top menu bar tap or click Safari, then Preferences, then Notifications and remove blue-ring.co.uk;
- Now open Safari and Sign in to your account so that our server can sync your device data.
