Video Walkthrough: Let’s show you what a Spotlight is, and how to configure, create, edit, and delete them
What is a Spotlight?
A Spotlight section on your website is a great way to highlight key bits of information or business offerings. Spotlight items can be linked to pages on your website or just used to display general information.
How do I create a new Spotlight item?
To create a new Spotlight do the following:-
- First tap or click Spotlight from the menu;
- Then tap or click Create a new Spotlight;
- Now complete the displayed fields:-
- Spotlight name - You should keep this less than 4 words long, and be sure to include at least 1 keyword to help boost your on page SEO.
- Spotlight description - You should keep this less than 30 words long, and be sure to include at least 2 keywords to help boost your on page SEO.
- Spotlight icon - Select an icon from the list that best represents your spotlight item.
- Make clickable and direct to the following page - If you select a page or page tag here your visitor will be able to tap or click the spotlight item and will be directed the the page you have selected. If you leave this blank the spotlight item will act as an information only box.
- Spotlight display enabled - Use the switch to activate or deactivate this spotlight item. When deactivated this spotlight item will not be displayed, which is a handy option to use if you only need to show this at certain times and prevents you having to delete and recreate it when you need it again.
- Finally tap or click Create.
How do I edit a Spotlight item?
To edit an existing Spotlight item do the following:-
- First tap or click Spotlight from the menu;
- Then tap or click the Spotlight item you want to edit;
- Now update the displayed fields as needed:-
- Spotlight name - You should keep this less than 4 words long, and be sure to include at least 1 keyword to help boost your on page SEO.

How do I delete a Spotlight item?
To delete a Spotlight item do the following:-
- First tap or click Spotlight from the menu;
- Then tap or click the spotlight item you want to delete;
- Then tap or click Delete Spotlight;
- Finally tap or click OK on the pop-up warning.
Tip
Rather than deleting a spotlight item you could just hide it. This is handy if you only need to stop showing a spotlight item temporarily and will save you having to create the item again in the future. Simply change the Spotlight display enabled switch to the off position, when your ready to show it again just change it back to the on position.
How do I configure the general Spotlight settings?
To configure the general Spotlight settings, do the following:-
- First tap or click Spotlight from the menu;
- Then tap or click the Spotlight settings tab;
- Then update the displayed fields as needed:-
- Display this section in menu's and on the home page - Select if the Spotlight section is to be displayed. If it is to be displayed, choose whether this will show on the home page and have a link in the menu, or if it will just show as a section on the home page.
- Spotlight heading - This is the title that will be shown just above the Spotlight section on the home page, and will also be used as the menu link if you have chosen to enable that above. You should keep this less than 5 words long, and be sure to include at least 1 keyword to help boost your on page SEO.
- Spotlight subheading - You can include a subheading for the Spotlight section, which will appear with the heading above. You should keep this less than 10 words long, and be sure to include at least 1 keyword to help boost your on page SEO.
- Finally tap or click Save Changes.
