How do I show prices without TAX prior to checkout?

You can choose to show product prices to customers with or without any applicable TAX prior to checkout.

If your customer base will generally be businesses they are likely to want to see the Net cost (base price without TAX), whereas general customers will likely want to see the Gross cost (base price with TAX). The reasons for this is that businesses can normally claim the TAX back so are normally only interested in the Net cost, however most general customers cannot claim TAX back so they will want to know the total cost.

To set if prices are initially shown with or without TAX, do the following:-

  1. First tap or click  Ecommerce from the menu;
  2. The tap or click the General Options tab;
  3. Now, under Generic Options, set Display prices with tax included before checkout to No to show only the product base price or Yes to show the base price plus any applicable TAX;
  4. Finally tap or click Save Changes.

Regardless of this setting, once a customer starts the checkout process, the shopping cart will show the checkout amount which will include any applicable TAX and will provide a breakdown.
