How do I add Product Options on a Product?
Product options are used to allow customers to customise the product they are purchasing.
To enable options on a product do the following:-
- First tap or click Ecommerce from the menu;
- Then tap or click the Products tab;
- Under Products Options Manager make sure you have both the Product Option and the Product Option Value created that you are planning to add to a product;
- Product Option - this is the main option name (i.e Colour);
- If the Product Option you want to add to a product is not in the list you can create one. First tap or click Create a new product option and then on the Option Details tab enter an Option name (i.e. Colour) and then tap or click Create.
- Product Option value - this is the value that will be used on the Option above (i.e. Blue);
- If the Product Option Value you want to add to a product is not in the list you can create one. First tap or click Create a new product option value and then on the Option Details tab enter an Option value (i.e. Blue) and then tap or click Create. There are additional options on this screen for Clothing Specs, Audience, and Energy Efficiency; only customise these option if they relate to the option you are adding.
- Product Option - this is the main option name (i.e Colour);
- Then, on the Products tab, tap or click the product you wish to add options too;
- On the Product Details tab scroll down to Product Options and then tap or click Add a product option;
- Now complete the displayed fields:-
- Attribute option name - select the Product Option you created above;
- Attribute option value - select the Product Option Value you created above;
- Attribute price (this is added to the base price) - if you want to charge more for this option enter the value to be added to the products base price;
- Attribute weight (this is added to the products weight) - if this option will increase the products main weight enter the additional weight here;
- Sort order - you can choose the display order of the options you have added (generally leave this blank).
- Finally tap or click Create. Repeat these steps to add more options and values to your product (i.e. Red, Green, Yellow etc.)
Note
It is not currently possible to control the stock level for individual options (i.e. 5 in stock Colour: Red and 20 in stock for Colour: Blue), the main stock level will be used for the product. If you need to stock control based on different options you should create individual products instead (i.e. Product 1 - Colour Red and Product 2 - Colour Blue) rather than having just one product and all the options assigned to it.
